Offshore
oil

cleaner

Mother

"Painfully

Will
Media
Report
Concert
Before
Obama's
Berlin
Speech?
"Remember
back in
May when
media
gushed
and
fawned
over a
huge
crowd in
Portland,
Oregon
--
supposedly
gathered
to hear
the
words of
Democrat
presidential
candidate
Barack
Obama
-- but
chose
not to
report
the
free
concert
given
before
his
speech?
"Well,
it has
been
learned
that
before
the
presumptive
Democrat
nominee
spoke to
a crowd
in
Berlin
Thursday,
two
popular
German
acts --
reggae
artist
Patrice
and rock
band
Reamonn
--
entertained
the
gathering
audience.
"Will
media

this

or just
gush and

huge
crowd
again?"

Appeaser
Obama
Could
Not
Deliver
Berlin
Speech
Like
Reagan
or JFK
"KENNEDY:
We can
look
forward
to that
day when
this
city
will be
joined
as one
and this
country
and this
great
Continent
of
Europe
in a
peaceful
and
hopeful
globe.
When
that day
finally
comes,
as it
will,
the
people
of West
Berlin
can take
sober
satisfaction
in the
fact
that
they
were in
the
front
lines
for
almost
two
decades.
All free
men,
wherever
they may
live,
are
citizens
of
Berlin.
And,
therefore,
as a
free
man, I
take
pride in
the
words 'Ich
bin ein
Berliner.'
"RUSH: And the crowd went nuts with that. Now, a couple of things
here.
Not only
could
Obama
not make
this
speech,
nor
could
any
other
Democrat
today
because
they are
appeasers,
because
they
don't
see that
much
wrong
with
communism,
if
the
truth be
told.
But he
couldn't
make
this
speech,
either,
because
Obama
believes
that it
was a
mistake
to free
25
million
Iraqis
from
tyranny
because
it
angered
our
enemies.
We are
so
afraid
of
angering
our
enemies
today
Obama
wouldn't
make
a speech
like
this,
not
aimed at
Iran.
George
W. Bush
will,
but
there is
not a
Democrat
who will
do it."

A
Presidential
Catastrophe
For
America
"Will
America
elect an
inexperienced
Chicago
machine
politician,
a
radical,
extremist,
leftist,
liberal,
elitist,
with no
legislative
or other
accomplishments,
who has
demonstrated
he is a
world-class
flip-flopping
zigzagger?
Will we
go for
someone
with a
painfully
thin
resume
and body
of
experience,
who has
already
demonstrated
bad
judgment
by his
selection
of
associates
(racists,
bigots,
terrorists,
and
crooks)
and by
his
output
of
ideas?
This
candidate
is
totally
unfit to
be our
commander-in-chief
and
president
in a
time of
unprecedented
peril to
the
survival
of
our
nation
and
western
civilization.
"If you examine the record and pronouncements of Barack Obama, you will
discover
he is
not only
totally
unprepared
and
unqualified
to be
president,
but is
in fact
a fraud
being
sold to
the
American
people
by his
campaign
managers
and
promoters,
the
mainstream
media. I
would
recommend
he
change
his
slogan
from
'change

in.'

BUT WILL
THEY
RESPECT
HIM IN
THE
MORNING?
"Back
before
the
Republican
Party
was
saddled
with
John
McCain
as its
nominee,
The New
York
Times
called
him 'the
only
Republican
who
promises
to end
the
George
Bush
style of
governing
from and
on
behalf
of a
small,
angry
fringe.'
The
paper
praised
him for
'working
across
the
aisle to
develop
sound
bipartisan
legislation'
and
predicted
that he
would
appeal
to 'a
broader
range of
Americans
than the
rest of
the
Republican
field.'
. . .
"And on MSNBC's 'Hardball,' from the way Chris Matthews carried on about McCain, you'd think he had caught a
glimpse of Obama's ankle. Matthews said that McCain was 'the real straight talker ... a profile in courage ... more
seasoned than the current president, a patriot, of course ... honest and respected in the media. He has all the pluses
in the world of a sort of a, you know, an Audie Murphy, if you will, a real war hero.'"
I guess the party's over.
"Now the Times won't even publish McCain's op-ed.

Democrat
Evades
Offshore
Drilling
Question
"Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) repeatedly ducked a reporter’s questions
Monday
on
whether
he would

lift a
congressional
moratorium
on new
offshore
oil-drilling
leases,
a move
that one
poll
indicates
is

by 74%
of
likely
voters.
"At a
press
conference
called
to talk
about
legislation
he has
proposed
to curb
speculation
in the
oil
market,
Dorgan
responded
to
questions
about
whether
he would
vote to
lift the
moratorium
on new
off-shore
drilling
by
focusing
instead
on
things
he has
done in
the past
to open
up oil
shale
exploration,
including
in his
home
state of
North
Dakota
and in

Sen. Jim

(R-S.C.)
said in

statement
last
week
after
President

lifted
the
executive
moratorium
on new
offshore
drilling."
Congress:
Americans
expect
and need
a
Speaker
of the
House
who
offers
common-sense
leadership
to
direct
bipartisan
legislative
action.
Nancy
Pelosi
is not
up to
that
task,
and our
nation
is the
loser.
"It's
bad
enough
that
Rep.
Pelosi
refuses
to
embrace
reality,
evaluate
facts
and
oversee
meaningful
debate.
But the
hissy
fits
she
throws
against
President
Bush and
the
Republican
minority
are
worse
yet.
This is
a sad
situation.
"Pelosi's
reaction
to
Bush's
lifting
of the
ban on
offshore
drilling
is a
perfect
example.
She
called
the
action a
giveaway
of
'more
public
resources
to the
very
same oil
companies
that are
sitting
on 68
million
acres of
federal
lands
they've
already
leased.'
"The key
phrase
is
'public'
resources
— not
Democratic
resources
or
Pelosi's
resources
— and
polls
clearly
show
Americans
are
behind
coastal
drilling.
The
speaker
knows
that.
"Her
demonizing
of Big
Oil
doesn't
make
sense,
either.
The
companies
want to
get oil
out of
the
ground.
Their
exploratory
technology
is very
effective,
and
they're
drilling
extensively.
But not
all
lease
properties
have oil
that's
readily
recoverable.
"Pelosi
says the
president's
action
is a
"gift of
more
profits
for the
oil
companies."
Does she
prefer
that
foreign,
and
often
hostile,
nations
make the
profits?
Well,
they
are. She
knows
that,
too. . .
.
"Last
weekend,
Pelosi
responded
to
Bush's
criticism
of
Congress
by
calling
him 'a
total
failure.'
It was a
telling
interview,
with
CNN's
Wolf
Blitzer
pressing
her on
topics
including
offshore
drilling.
Each
time she
blamed
everybody
but
Congress.
"The
real
failure
is
Pelosi's
refusal
to
address
reality
and
lead.
The
nation
knows
that."

"On the campaign trail, Republican John McCain once again rebuked Obama for his opposition to the surge.
"'When we adopted the surge, we were losing the war in Iraq, and I stood up and said I would rather lose a campaign
than lose a war,' McCain said in New Hampshire.
"In a separate CBS interview, the Arizona senator hammered home the point.'Sen. Obama said the surge would fail. He
said that it couldn't succeed. He was wrong,' McCain said. 'He said he still doesn't agree that the surge has succeeded
now that everybody knows that it has succeeded.'"

"An organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists is denying that it has reversed its stance on climate change. The
American Physical society this afternoon put a statement on its Web site saying it has not changed its views about global
warming.
"The society declared in 2007, 'The evidence is incontrovertible. Global warming is occurring.' But an article by some
members of the society says there is no scientific consensus to support that statement: 'There is a considerable presence
within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the intergovernmental panel on climate change conclusion
that anthropogenic C02 emissions are likely to be primarily responsible for global warming.'"
